Speak Out Against Injustice

Organizers of the ReAwaken America events claim to be bringing together “truth-seekers” who reject pandemic measures, believe that the 2020 presidential election will be rigged, distrust the Black Lives Matter movement, and want to learn “what actually transpired” on January 6. The first sponsor is Charisma Information, a media platform for charismatic Christians, which hosts many of the events.

ReAwaken Event

Melody Noel Altavilla, a songwriter and worship leader at Affect Church in Anaheim, California, started a ReAwaken event in February at Trinity Gospel Temple in Canton, Ohio, with a set of praise music. Ms. Altavilla sung, “Your presence fills the temple once we worship you.” The sound of music filled the eerie refuge.

Altavilla said in an interview that she was pleased to perform because it gave her the chance to “make space for God” at a secular event.
