On August 11, 2022, Motorola introduced the Moto G62, a 5G smartphone. The screen is 6.50 inches in size with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 (FHD+) and a pixel density of 402. The phone has a 120 Hz refresh rate (ppi).
The octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 powers the Motorola Moto G62 5G. There are 6GB or 8GB of RAM included. The Motorola Moto G62 5G has a 5000mAh battery and runs on Android 12.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Motorola Moto G62 5G on the rear carries a triple camera arrangement comprising a 50-megapixel (f/1.8) primary camera; an 8-megapixel (f/2.2) camera, and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) camera.
The camera in the back may focus automatically. Selfies can be taken with the 16-megapixel front-facing camera, which has an aperture of f/2.2. Moto G62 5G Design
When we first saw the Moto G62 5G, we noted that it looked quite similar to the Moto G82. After several days of use, our opinions of it have not changed significantly. The plastic rear panel resembles almost the entire ‘G’ line of devices with a similar design approach.
It’s not easy to tell them apart. It has a frosted finish and our colorway picks up smudges easily, but only when the light hits it directly. Mineral Gray and Frosted Blue are the two color options for the Moto G62 5G.
The former color option should suffice if you desire a subdued appearance. The latter, however, appears to be novel and will so draw more attention. To further differentiate it, the top-mounted camera arrangement has a somewhat different finish than the back.
The camera module is sleek and does not protrude significantly. The back panel blends seamlessly into the chassis, creating a unibody appearance. The device’s rounded corners and flat palm rest make it comfortable to use for extended periods of time. Yet, occasionally the device’s sharp outer edges can be uncomfortable. The included case is a simple solution to this problem.
Moto G62 5G: The Viewing Experience
The 120Hz LCD screen on the Moto G62 5G measures in at 6.5 inches in diagonal size. It also has a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz, making everyday use and gaming feel fluid. Yet, the Poco X4 Pro 5G stands out from other phones in its pricing range thanks to its AMOLED screen and rapid refresh rate.
Its deeper blacks contribute to longer battery life and higher picture quality. Another phone in this price range, the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus, also has an AMOLED screen with a maximum brightness of 1200 nits, but it doesn’t support HDR. The Moto G62 5G isn’t certified and doesn’t have a very bright display.
Moto G62 5G Review: Performance Falters Under Pressure
Qualcomm’s 2.2GHz Snapdragon 695 SoC, built on the company’s 6nm manufacturing process, is the brains behind the Moto G62 5G. For graphical processing, an Adreno 619 GPU is included.
The gadget comes in both a 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage configuration and an 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage configuration. Both are available, with the former costing Rs 17,999 and the latter costing Rs 19,999.
This places it in the same league as the Poco X4 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus, and OnePlus North CE 2 Lite. The Moto G62 5G has a wide range of connectivity options, including 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, and dual-band WiFi.
As has become the usual with Motorola devices, Android 12 is preinstalled on the Moto G62 5G, and we couldn’t be happier. Three years of security updates and an assured upgrade to Android 13 were also among the promises made by the corporation. This
Moto G62 5G Review: Slow Charging But Good Battery Life
The Moto G62 5G shares a similar battery capacity to its rivals, at 5000mAh. Unfortunately, the charger’s low power rating of 20W is a major drawback. Out of the box, both the Poco X4 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus are able to charge at 67W. In our testing, we found that the Moto G62 5G’s battery life was excellent.
We were able to utilize the phone for almost two days and it lasted for more than seven hours and forty-five minutes of talk time. However, charging was quite time-consuming, taking 30 minutes to reach 21% and an hour to reach 38%. The full charge took roughly 2 hours and 35 minutes to reach. This is terrible by the standards of the year 2022.
Even though it costs less than half as much as the Moto G62 5G, the Moto G32 includes a 33W charger. Motorola, in order to remain competitive, should have supplied at least the same 33W charger as its rivals. The 20W charger is insufficient. A comparable 33W charger is available on the OnePlus North CE 2 Lite.
Conclusion
The Moto G62 5G costs exactly £200 (actually, you’ll get 1p change), while the majority of Motorola’s current smartphones cost around £200. Many people would consider it as an option because it is reasonably priced and is 5G-ready.
The Moto G62 is a low-key reliable low-cost 5G smartphone with decent features. It’s surprising how hard it is to find a phone with a 120Hz display, 5G connectivity, and a decently up-to-date Snapdragon processor for around £200 in the middle of 2022, however there are better all-around options among 4G alternatives.
