3. Use Registry Editor

This method is used to disable telemetry from data collection and prevent Microsoft from collecting the data. Just before following below steps simply create a backup for registry through these steps: open Registry Editor > File > Expert > save the backup to a safe location

This is necessary as improper action may cause issues due to critical system files.

Step 1: First, tap the start button and search Registry editor and click Run as administrator.

Step 2: Next, browse the editor and find the data collection entry through this code:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Data Collection

Step 3: Then, right click over empty space and select NEW and then DWORD(32-BIT)VALUE.  Next, set its name as Allow Telemetry.

Step 4: Finally, double click on the newly created entry and change the value data to 0.  Then, click OK to save changes.

Check for the disk usage in the task manager. If this doesn’t work ,go for the next one.

4 .Use Group Policy Editor

This helps in editing and finally resolving the issue. Following steps can help to disable the problem:

Step 1: At first, tap the start button with R to open Run Command.

Step 2: Next, type “gpedit.msc” in the Dialog box appeared and click OK.

Step 3: Then, go to computer configuration and select the administrative template.

Step 4: Select Windows component and Click over Data Collection and Preview builds.

Step 5: Afterwards, double click oN ALLOW TELEMETRY.

Step 6: Next, select Disabled and press on Apply. Now, tap ok.

Finally check the disk usage by opening Task manager. If it is normal then the solution worked, but if not move to next.

5. Clear The Running Memory

Solution for high disk usage can be clearing the storage. It will be the most obvious solution. For this download any free storage clear up tool like ”EASE US”.

The following steps are process to use free up tool “ease us”:

Step 1: Firstly, launch the ”Ease us partition tool” and click “ cleanup and optimization”.

Step 2: Next, tap over “ junk file clean up”.

Step 3: Then, click “Analyse” so that tool can find trash.

Step 4: At last, check and select the trash you want to clear up and select “Clean up”.

6. Using Diagnostic Tools

Step 1: Firstly, start the “services” from the desktop.

Step 2: Next, find  “ Diagnostic Tracking Service”.

Step 3: Then, go to the properties of  “Diagnostic Tracking Services”.

Step 4: Next, in Properties click  “General tab” and under startup type, select “ disable”.

7. Remove It From The Task Schedule 

We can also remove the issue of disk by disabling compatteltunner.exe files which is the one responsible for running Windows Compatibility Telemetry. So, disabling the file will result in disabling privacy and disk file space issues.

Steps to disabling the files, are below:

Step 1: Firstly, press start and R button simultaneously.

Step 2: Next, type ‘taskschd.msc’ in the Run window and click OK.

Step 3: Then, move to the Task Scheduler library and click Microsoft.

Step 4: Now, under Microsoft ,choose Windows and then Application experience.

Step 5: Next, search for Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser, right click over it and disable it.

Step 6: Again, in the Task Scheduler library follow the path.
