Dianna Decision

Since both of them are exceptional artists, their mother, Dianna, has decided that they should attend a local high school for the arts. It’s not uncommon for them to find themselves competing against each other.

Similarly, their mother puts them in a position of competition for her love and adoration. As a great artist, Noah discovered through spying on his sister that her work was superior to his own. In order to keep her best work to herself, she refuses to share it with their mother or the school.

Guillermo Garcia, a local artist, has been having an affair with his mother, who he discovers by spying on her.

Noah’s Opinion

In Noah’s opinion, Jude harbours a deep-seated hatred towards him. Noah gets contacted by an attractive male artist’s model while spying on a life painting class one day.

For being intoxicated on the job, Noah later finds out that the model has been let go. Noah develops a crush on Brian, a young man who collects rocks.

Brian and Noah

Brian and Noah begin to spend a lot of time together, and Jude develops a romantic interest in Brian. Noah believes that dating Brian because of his attractiveness and athleticism is doomed to failure.

Noah and Jude play a seven-minute game of paradise during a party. A female named Heather is sent into the closet with Noah, while Jude and Brian are sent in with Noah. Out of jealousy, Noah flees the gathering in a rage.

Brian and Noah have sex in the woods soon after. In order to keep it a secret, Brian informs Noah. Noah’s mother, on the other hand, nabbed them.

Despite her encouragement, Noah is scared she would inform everyone about his sexuality. Later, when he sees Brian kissing a girl, he gets enraged and yells that Brian is homosexual.

Guillermo is Noah’s mother’s New Boyfriend.

She gets murdered in a vehicle accident while driving to his residence. To keep his father from finding out, Noah makes a fictitious apology for Dianne’s behaviour, claiming she was on her way to say she’s sorry to him.

By focusing on Jude’s perspective, this aspect of the story becomes more personal. The twins are sixteen years old when the story picks up two years after Noah’s section. Judah is a student at an art school, but her work isn’t appreciated because it’s so fragile and easily breaks apart.

It seems to Jude that the spirit of her mother is wreaking havoc on her. Her tutor recommends that she take lessons from Guillermo Garcia because she wants to build something that will last.

Jude visits Guillermo’s studio, but she does not introduce herself to the artist. Instead, she secretly observes him at work and deduces that he is trying to express something sorrowful about his past through his art. Since then, she has kept an eye on Guillermo. She does, however, intervene when she sees him about to break a stone sculpture he just built.

When Jude is apprehended by Guillermo, he offers to be her mentor. Guillermo concurs and leads her into his studio, which is filled with sculptures of angels. She discovers that Oscar, the model for the artist’s work, lives with Guillermo as Guillermo’s foster child. A sculpture of Jude’s mother is on her mind, and she seeks for aid.

On the beach near their home, Noah heads to the cliffs, where he intends to take his own life. Suddenly, Oscar appears, rescuing Noah from the brink of death. It was only when Oscar recognised that Jude needed help that he decided not to violate his sobriety. He and Jude share a kiss and grasp each other’s hands.

The following day, Noah tells Jude about Dianne’s hidden relationship with another man. Their father is also informed of the situation, and then Noah comes out to him. This brings some relief to Noah’s father, who thinks Noah is happier with Brian. Oscar tells Jude he loves her and will wait for her to be allowed to date lawfully before they get together.

Last Words

Last but not least, Guillermo admits that he has spent the last two years supporting Noah and Jude in their artistic endeavours because he believes that is what their mother would want.
