Facebook’s Chief Technology Officer To Step Down

Facebook Chief Technology Officer who you might know by the name of Mike Schroepfer has announced on Wednesday that he will be stepping down from his role in the company. This was a rather sudden announcement made by him.

Schroepfer will not be leaving the company though. He will be there working in transition as a part-time role with the company. In 2022, the seat that he is leaving will be filled. He will be replaced as CTO by Andrew “Boz” Bosworth.

He is the one who is currently working as the head of Facebook’s hardware division. Schroepfer has taken this decision himself and he then informed Facebook of his intention on Monday.

“This is a very difficult decision for me because of how much I love Facebook and how much excited I am about the future we are building together,” Schroepfer had written in a post on his Facebook profile.

He even went in and added that he would use the extra time that he is getting after stepping down for philanthropy and he would also like to be spending time with his family.

He had been an integral part of the company for a long period of 13 years and it is going to be different without him. But there are more than enough capable people who can fill in his seats. So there’s that.

What comes next will be told to us by time eventually. We will definitely make sure to keep you updated on any kind of recent developments. Rest assured you guys!
